An all-Pirelli Scorpion Mx podium was seen at the latest meeting of the ‘Internazionali d’Italia’ Italian Championship at Arco di Trento with the MidSoft 32 dominating the MX1, MX1 and Elite categories of the four round series.
Chief protagonist at the second race of the campaign was factory Yamaha rider Steven Frossard who won both motos to head the MX1 and Elite divisions ahead of team-mate David Philippaerts. Five times World Champion Antonio Cairoli could do no better than a set of third positions after a slip and malfunctioning brake (due to an errant stone) in the first sprint and then a start that saw him away from the gate in sixth position in the second. Arco Di Trento witnessed a decent debut by Christophe Charlier who controlled the MX2 moto and then placed his 250cc Yamaha among the bigger 450cc machines to take fifth position later in the afternoon. The penultimate round of the competition will take place at Castiglione Del Lago on March 11th (Perugia).
